Viewer Settings

Open Settings > Viewer.

Customize how the viewer looks and responds to gestures. See also Image Zoom and View Information in the viewer guide.

Appearance

Background Color: Viewer background color.
Album Names: Show assigned album names at the top of the viewer. Required for some Add to Album shortcuts in the viewer.
Album Bar: Show the album picker bar at the bottom when organizing.
Thumbnail Bar: Show the thumbnail scrubber bar at the bottom.
Zoom Level: Display the current zoom level while viewing a photo.
Home Indicator: Show the iOS home indicator in the viewer. Not available on iOS 26 or later.

Use Relative Date: Show dates like “Yesterday” or “Last week” in the viewer title.
Show Location: Include location in the viewer title when available.

Open in Full Screen: Open the viewer in Full Screen mode (without on-screen controls) when tapping a photo from thumbnails.
Disable Auto Lock: Prevent the screen from locking while the viewer is open.
Hide Controls When Zoom: Hide controls while zoomed in.
Enlarge Small Image to Fit: Scale up small images to fit the screen.
Live Text: Enable Live Text on supported photos.
Panorama Tilt Scroll: Scroll panorama photos by tilting the device.

Auto Play Video: Start playing videos automatically when opened.
Long Press for 2x Speed: Play video at 2× speed while pressing and holding.
Enable PiP: Allow picture-in-picture playback.
Show in Now Playing: Display videos in iOS Now Playing so shortcuts can control playback.

Requires iOS 17 or later.

Swipe Up: Action for the swipe up gesture.
Double Tap: Action for the double tap gesture.
Two Finger Double TapPRO: Action for the two-finger double tap gesture.
Side Tap Navigation: Tap the left or right edge of the screen to go to the previous or next photo.

Album Bar: Automatically move to the next or previous photo after assigning from the album bar.
Tray: Automatically move after adding to the Tray.
Favorite: Automatically move after toggling favorite.
