Sidebar

The sidebar is where you browse and manage your photo libraries. Use the library tabs at the top to switch between libraries.

Open the sidebar

Method 1

  • Swipe the thumbnails screen to the right.

Method 2

  • Tap the sidebar button on the top left of the screen.

Touch and hold the sidebar button on the main screen to quickly jump to a recently opened album or a recent destination album. See Gesture Cheatsheet.

iPad

On iPad, tapping the sidebar button on the main screen opens the sidebar in a pinned layout that stays on screen. If you open the sidebar with a swipe gesture, selecting an album closes the sidebar.

Customize Sidebar

Choose which sections appear in the sidebar and manage pinned items.

  1. Open Settings > Sidebar.
  2. Choose a library — System Library, Local Library, or External Library when available.
  3. Turn sections on or off and reorder them.

Enable or disable libraries under Library Settings. Manage pinned albums and pinned keywords under Data Settings. See Sidebar Settings for details.

Sort Albums

Albums in the Albums and Local/Private Albums sections can be sorted automatically by title or arranged manually.

Sort by name

  1. Open the sidebar.
  2. Tap the menu button at the top of the sidebar.
  3. Turn on Sort by Name.

When Sort by Name is on, albums are listed alphabetically and manual reordering is not available.

Manual order

Turn off Sort by Name to drag albums into a custom order. See Reorder Albums.

Manage Albums

Add, delete, rename, and reorder albums and folders from the sidebar. See Albums & Folders:

Pin Album

PRO Free: up to 5 albums.

Pinned albums appear at the top of the sidebar for quick access. They also show up in the album picker bar when you organize photos.

Pin an album

  1. Open the sidebar.
  2. Touch and hold the album.
  3. Tap Pin Album.

Unpin or reorder pinned albums

  1. Open Settings > Sidebar.
  2. Reorder or remove albums under Pinned Albums.
