Requires iOS 17 or later.

Create an animated image from selected photos — for example an animated GIF — with custom timing and transition options.

  1. Select photos in order to include in the animation.
  2. Tap the actions button on the bottom toolbar.
  3. Tap Tools > Create Animated Image.
  4. Tap a thumbnail to exclude or include it in the animation.
  5. Drag and drop frames to reorder them.
  6. Adjust timing, transitions, scale, and padding as needed.
  7. Choose an output format and tap Save.

Output formats

Save the animation as GIF, APNG, WebP, MP4, or MOV.

  • Scale to Fill or Fit
  • Padding around each frame
